Why did Cracker Jacks stop putting good prizes in the boxes?

Does anyone know why Cracker Jacks stopped putting good prizes in the boxes? The ones now suck and are stupid. The fun in getting cracker jacks when we were kids was the prizes in the boxes, like whistles and stuff. Now they have paper prizes – like stickers, baseball card minis, and paper pencil toppers. They are just plain dumb.
Because they are CHEAP! Just look at like Kinder Surprises..they used to have well made ones..now they just have crappy plastic ones..

Haha I feel ya, last few times I got cracker jacks it was the same stupid pencil topper of a fly doin some stupid sh!t

Probably because kids can choke on the cool prizes. Sadly, the boring paper ones are all I’ve ever known.

because they would lose money. think about it, cracker jacks are around 1.00 a box, sometimes you can buy 3 for $1. So if they put in a toy that costs 25 cents they would only be selling they actual popcorn for 75 cents. so they spend like 5 cents on the stupid paper ones and they earn more per box.
