@MegaGalaxy10 True. USA 3 vs Argentina 0 in Copa America and that win against Mexico for 4 -0 are in my opinion, some of our best results, because they were made when we just had started taking the sport seriously.

    Nice video. Really …
Nice video. Really shows how much soccer is improving here. But at the same time, after watching that ESPN documentary “The Two Escobar’s”, I feel sympathy over Andres Escobar’s own goal and the entire Colombian team. Imagine how they felt when before the game, how they found out that the entire team were given death threats. That would bring so much pressure on anyone. I guess it’s the part of how he was gunned down and how much it changed the sport in Colombia. But he’s in a better place.

@david292978 Common on man, I am not american, but you can’t deny that the US team has made a lot of progress, at one time they were one of the weakest teams in CONCACAF, now they are the strongest team in North America.

@yojimbo81 – I don’t know. The atmosphere is the most important part of those highlights. The commentary is the next best part.

I could probably portray that effectively without the own goal. Plus, if I do a later version (no time soon), I’ll have highlights from the 1995 Copa America win over Argentina and Feilhaber’s goal that will make it longer, so I’ll need to find some places to size down.

@rocket4221 Good to know. Video did give me chills- particularly the confederations cup part. If you decide to make a part two or something, you should try and hunt down some audio from Mike Bradley’s rant post game.

    There’s no need to …
There’s no need to edit the goal out. It is after all a big part of USA soccer history. For anyone that’s interested the Escobar affair will be featured in a documentary in June on ESPN.

@eracholo17 – I guess if I ever do another version at a later date, I’ll go ahead and take the own goal out.

I just wanted to focus on the crowd’s celebrations because the atmosphere was absolutely electric that day.

    R.I.P. Andres …
R.I.P. Andres Escobar. Own goals happen. You shouldn’t have been gunned down for it though.

Good video though…as hard as it was to stomach Andres Escobar’s own goal =\

The Confed goals against Brazil should be there. Those were excellent even though we lost.

@absolutezerocool – don’t want to make a 23 minute video though. I have Benny’s goal, but like I’ve said, I wanted to save it for later in Requiem.

I searched for the 1995 Copa America match and never could find it. Sure enough, someone showed me the highlights after I posted the video. *sigh*

Other than that, I hit all of the high notes. The 2005 win over Mexico may be sentimental to you, but its not a major moment in US Soccer history.

  25. rocket4221 Says:

    @yojimbo81 – I know …
@yojimbo81 – I know. I’ve been rethinking it lately, maybe I should have included Benny’s goal, but I really wanted it for a later part in “Requiem for a Cycle.” I don’t want it to become repetitive.
